Brand positioning can be best described as a motivational reason to buy ones product over others, is guided, directed and delivered by the brands benefits/reasons to buy; and it focuses at all points of contact with the consumer (Management study guide, 2011). Nike creates value and sustains competitive advantage over other competitors with this technique because image is a big f actor in todays markets, a large number of consumers are likely to develop product intimacy; those who care more about the quality rather than the price. This takes us to Nikes price strategy, which they target consumers who focus more on product intimacy and care less about the price. Giving Nike the advantage over other competitors setting higher prices for its products; consumers who believe a product to be of high quality are prone to pay a higher price. Apart from marketing strategies Nike has embellished on the expanding market of technology. In efforts to collaborate with issues of climate change in business the challenges and opportunities that growing organizations seek, Nike has designed a tool to advert such issues. Lord of the Flies When wisdom is lost, civilization crumbles and savagery rises. William Golding makes this statement apparent through the character of Piggy in Lord of the Fies. The main idea of the book is fixated on a group of young boys struggling to survive after a plane crash on a deserted island. They must put their independent thinking and logic to the ultimate test, without a proper head of authority to show them right from wrong. Golding portrays Piggy as wisdom and the voice of reason. Once the voice of reason is gone, civilizations ceases to exist. On arrival of the island, Piggy is identified as the wisdom archetype right off the bat. Piggy wears glasses, and this is a stereotype of an intellectual being. He meets Ralph and†¦show more content†¦The boys on the island usually give him grief for his name, calling him â€Å"Piggy† when he specifically asked not to be called that. â€Å"Better that than fatty† Ralph comments, as if he thinks his feelings are unimportant, and it wasn’t a big deal. But this act of mockery has wounded Piggy psychologically. He didn’t like being called that back in school, and he especially doesn’t like it now. When the conch comes into play, it is respected that he who holds the conch has the right to speak. This rule seemingly does not apply to Piggy. He is often cut off by Jack, as if he wasn’t good enough to hold the crowd’s attention. He was pushed aside. â€Å"†I’ve got the conch.† Jack turned fiercely. â€Å"You shut up† Piggy wilted.† Piggy, in essence, â€Å"wisdom†, is being silenced. Piggy is intimidated by Jack’s presence, and starts to fade away or cease to speak. â€Å"Piggy asked no names. He was intimidated by this uniformed superiority and the offhand authority in Merridew’s voice.
